Covid-19 Patient Protocol for Face to Face Consultations

This protocol outlines the steps that are being taken to ensure the you, your acupuncturist and the clinic staff all remain safe during your treatment. This protocol will give you an idea of what to expect when you come to the clinic for your appointment.

Jo Phillips Acupuncture has undergone the Government’s ‘Covid-19 Secure’ business assessment and is a certified ‘Covid-19 Secure’ business.

Attending your appointment implies that you are happy with the measures taken to become ‘Covid-19 Secure’ and that you consent to the Patient Protocol outlined below.

Prior to your appointment

You MUST NOT make or attend a clinic appointment if you or anyone in your household has displayed symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough or loss of taste or smell) in the past 7 days
You MUST NOT make or attend a clinic appointment if you or anyone in your household has had contact with a person confirmed or suspected of having Covid-19 in the past 14 days
You MUST NOT make or attend a clinic appointment if you have arrived by air from another country within the past 14 days
If you have symptoms, or have been in contact with anyone else who has symptoms, please call to cancel your appointment or to arrange a phone consultation.
You must complete a Consent to Treatment form. This will be emailed to you where possible or completed over the phone.

At your appointment

Please do not arrive at the clinic before your appointment time. If you arrive early please wait in your car or outside the clinic until your appointment time. There will be no waiting room facilities available inside the clinic.
Please protect yourself and our reception staff by staying a 2 metre distance from the reception desk.
You will be met and guided to the hand washing facilities where you will be asked to wash your hands before treatment begins.
You will be asked to sit more than 2 metres from your acupuncturist and asked to wear a face mask during any part of the treatment which requires physical contact, such as pulse diagnosis and acupuncture treatment. You will be shown how to put the mask on and safely take it off.
Your acupuncturist will wear a face mask, and during pulse and tongue diagnosis and acupuncture treatment will wear safety glasses and a single use apron.
Before you leave the clinic you will be asked to use hand sanitiser.
Payments can be made by cash, contactless card payment or by bank transfer before your appointment

After your appointment

If you develop Covid-19 symptoms or have a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19 with 14 days of your acupuncture treatment please inform your acupuncturist as soon as possible by emailing jo@jophillips.com
